When you walk into a movie theatre, a school, or any public place, you already assume that it is a safe place to freely walk around and to not be afraid of anything or anyone. Nowadays, that is not the case and you’re advised to be cautious at all times and to not go to anywhere that is too crowded. In the past couple of years, I have heard about the multiple shootings that have happened and started to become less desensitized to it – which no one should become to.

Reading about these tragedies while simultaneously reading about how the NRA isn’t doing much to prevent shootings from happening on a weekly basis would make anyone’s stomach churn. Australia’s first and only mass shooting in 1996 was enough for the government to implement stricter gun laws which since then, Australia has not had a single mass shooting. It’s not that there’s no way to prevent shootings, it’s just that politicians don’t care enough to do anything...

WHAT’S NEW AT THE ITHACA ZOO

Ithaca Zoo has announced the opening of a new permanent exhibit on bugs, “Incredible Insects Worldwide”

 

 

ITHACA, N.Y., MARCH 8, 2018 – On April 1st, the Ithaca Zoo will be opening a new permanent exhibit on bugs called the “incredible Insects Worldwide”. This exhibit in Ithaca, New York will feature 7,000 creeping, crawling and flying insects, ranging from colorful butterflies to a working colony of leaf-cutter ants. Angelina E. Scarab, Executive Director of the Ithaca Zoo, believes in creating adventure, conveying knowledge, conserving nature, and serving the community.
